It was strange. The word had frightened me so much before, but now, it was the most beautiful word I could think of. I love you, Bella, Edward suddenly whispered. Never mind. Those are the most beautiful words I could think of. Edward looked back warmly at me. I touched my fingers to my lips and touched them to his. His stone cold lips returned the kiss. He looked down at the white gown I was in and smiled. I rolled my eyes. He just loved seeing me in this dress.
Do you want to change? he asked, tucking in his lips to hide his apparent smile.
I looked at him with fake innocence and pouted my lips. What? Do you not like it?
He chuckled quietly. No, of course not, he said wryly. If you want to wear it, fine. He sped up.
We were just passing the next town. The last town for three hundred miles. I gritted my teeth and glared at him through narrowed eyes. He just chuckled and ran his fingers through my hair. Alright, love. This is your special day; I guess Ill bite.
A wide smile swept across my face at the words. Yes, I sighed. Yes, you will bite. I peeked at him mischievously. He just smiled. Now, that he had gotten his part of the bargain, he didnt seem as bothered by the idea of me losing my mortality. He turned off the highway, slowing down to fifty miles an hour as he entered the small town.
We passed a Shell station. I looked at Edward confused, but he just drove on, subconsciously playing with a strand of my hair. Where are we going? I asked softly, not wanting to begin another teasing quarrel.
I thought you might be hungry, he answered, motioning pointedly toward my stomach. At that moment, a deep rumble erupted from my body. I hadnt realized how hungry I really was. I had been too wrapped in his beauty, and the thought that I would be able stay with him forever. Not wanting to say any more, afraid that the monster in my belly would find a way out through my mouth, I nuzzled closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder.
I watched the road as he drove slowly, well, slowly for him, through the town. Within a matter of minutes, we reached a very small city. The buildings were taller than the few in Forks, but could not compare to those in Phoenix. Where are we?
Were in Vancouver, Edward whispered, his cool breath soft in my ear. Although he couldnt actually read my mind, a fact that I had always been grateful of, he always seemed to be able to guess what I was thinking. Just another thing he does better than anyone else, I suppose.
I stared out the windshield window. The stars were just beginning to appear. They were hardly visible beneath the blinding city lights. Ugh. What I wouldnt give for a clear, starry, night sky. I looked up to kiss my husbands stony face. He was watching me, while the car sped on through the city, unwavering from the right lane. There was an amused, loving smile on his lips. He kissed my hair and shifted to wrap his arm around me. My stomachs desperate cries for food were becoming more obvious. Edward laughed.
That has got to get uncomfortable, he chuckled, rubbing soothing circles on my shoulder.
Yeah, just one more thing I wont have to deal with, huh?
Edward tensed slightly. Uh, oh. Perhaps he wasnt as okay with changing me as I thought.
Edward? I began. He rested his chin on my scalp. Is everything alright?
He hesitated, pretending to have a sudden interest in paying attention to the road ahead. I waited. We sat there in silence for a few minutes. Suddenly, Edward turned into a quaint, little parking lot. The building was lovely. Small, two-stories; sort of like the kind that you picture old ladies living in. The ones who are too stubborn to let the city demolish, and dont care that their house sticks out lick a sore thumb in the midst of the twenty-story high buildings.
Were here, Edward whispered passionately. As quick as a flash, he jumped out of the car, and, almost simultaneously, he opened my door. He pulled me close and kissed me softly, but passionately and scooped me into his arms. Never breaking the kiss, he closed the door behind him and glided toward the house.
I wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. His lips moved softly with mine. I broke the kiss to gasp for air. Then, I headed down his jaw line, his neck, his collarbone
The sound of a door opening made me pause. I swung my head around to face an older woman. She was smiling sweetly, her white teeth gleaming. Her skin sagged, making her face look more like a basset hound than a person. You must be Mr. and Mrs. Cullen, she said sweetly. Her voice was light, but it was rasped with age.
Yes, Edward answered politely. He flashed his perfect white teeth at her. Strange as it was, his god-like features didnt faze the old lady as they did to every other girl Edward came across. I figured that after living so long, she learned not to be swooned by good-looking young men.
Lovely, she chirped. She ushered us into the house. Inside, a radio was softly playing oldies music. The place was decorated just like I expected. Antiques all over the place, flowers covering every surface. The old woman turned to face us. Your room is all ready, and you are welcome to dinner. Were serving in the main room, just around the corner. She smiled one last time, and retreated to the dining area.
I laid there in Edwards arms. He smiled warmly at me. What do you think? he asked, kissing my cheek.
Its lovely, I whispered. Did you plan this whole thing?
Of course, I didnt want our first night as a married couple to be spent in a shabby hotel room. And besides, you humans like these bed and breakfast things, dont you? His crooked smile had a teasing edge to it.
I laughed sarcastically. You wont be able to use the human card on me for much longer. Edward just nodded, obviously not wanting to put up with a struggle.
So. He placed me securely on my feet and lifted his arm for me to take. Shall we?
We glided into the dining room hand in hand. There were two other couples there. One sat at a small table in the middle of the room. They looked as if they were on some kind of anniversary retreat. The woman watched Edward longingly as he escorted me to the table in far corner. Her husband noticed and began to glare at us menacingly. The other couple was seated by the window. The two young men were sitting hand in hand, quietly talking among themselves.
Strangely, they seemed very cute together. I had always loved hanging around gay guys; they were just so much fun to be around. But I had never seen them together. It was very romantic. They didnt seem to care if people were staring at them. The only thing they were concerned about was each other. Just like when me and Edward were together.
I met eyes with the fair-skinned man. I smiled politely at him and nodded, wishing him good luck with his companion.
Edward guided me to the table. The lighting was dim, and I figured that we were barely visible to the other occupants of the room. Perfect. He pulled out my chair for me, and waited until I was situated before he seated himself. Suddenly, he chuckled. What? I asked confused.
He nodded pointedly toward the two mens table. They think Im hot.
I rolled my eyes. Of course they do. Everyone thinks youre hot. Im sure that old lady was picturing you naked out there. He just stared at me, fighting to control his smile.
Soon after we were seated, a young woman came out carrying two trays. She set one in front of me; a chefs salad and a roll, and surprisingly, one in front of Edward. The glasses, she filled with delicious smelling red wine. Thank you, I said politely, then turned to him.
Its for show, he explained, grinning. Eat, he ordered. Remember, this is going to be your last mealwell, as a human, at least. There was a slight amount of pain in his voice, but he hid it well. I watched him, concerned, but he just nodded encouragingly. I finally gave up and began to stab the lettuce leaves, one by one.
Edward watched me fervently. His eyes glazed over with lust. I felt my heart beat faster. This was the moment; I knew he was finally ready. He was finally ready to bring me into the next life. I set down my fork, too excited to finish. Edward seemed to be sharing my thoughts because he suddenly stood up and wrapped his arm around my waist, leading me out of the room.
He scooped me up as soon as we cleared the dining room. Our lips locked as he carried me up the winding stairs. He broke the kiss momentarily to unlock the door to our suite, and quickly made up for the lost time. I heard the door close behind us, but didnt bother to see how he had done it without his hands.
He finally broke the kiss to allow me air. I longed for when I could kiss him without having to stop for stupid things like breathing. We found ourselves at the bed. Edward set me down gently, and crawled up beside me. He ran his fingers lightly down my arm, kissing the trail he left behind. I buried my face in his golden hair, taking in his sweet scent.
He turned to face me. His fingers tracing along my jaw line, my collarbone, and he lingered at my chest. His freezing hands wrapped slowly around me to reach the zipper in the back. He undid it carefully, savoring the moment. The sleeves slid off of my shoulders. He took and involuntary gasp of lust. He met my eyes. I could feel my face redden with excitement. He smiled crookedly and touched my blushing cheeks. The cold felt good, and I leaned closer to him.
I pulled off his coat, letting it fall to the ground. My shaking hands finally gained enough control to unbutton his shirt slowly. I let my hand glide across his smooth chest. He sighed. Slipping off the rest of my dress, he took me in his arms. As I undid his pants, he kissed every part of me that he could reach. I dropped his pants on the ground, and surrendered to him. He led me as we crawled to the top of the bed. Our breaths became synchronizedheavy, and full of passion.
He bent down and kissed me softly but forcefully. I felt his sleek tongue against my lips. I willingly opened my mouth, tasting him. We kissed until I ran out of breath. We met each others eyes. He smiled and went down to kiss my neck. He lingered at my ear. I love you, and I always will. I promise, well be together forever.

Oh, and about the gay guys thing. I just thought it would be cute and a little funny. I mean, Bella thought that they were only interested in each other but then Edward comes out saying "They think I'm hot," and just crushes that theory. And come on, he doesn't just attract girls you know!
Anyway, I hope you like it. I didn't go all the way because, well, I wasn't really in the mood and I didn't want to portray it wrong...Alright yes, that sounds really strange, but oh well.
